Sprint has sent out the data sheet for their upcoming PPC-6800 (HTC Titan). What a great phone, if it only included Windows Mobile 6 and EV-DO Rev A., instead of hinting at the possibilities of being able to upgrade later. Featuring a 2.8" QVGA LCD screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD card, and 2-megapixel camera with flash, auto-focus and camcorder, it is expected to launch late next month as the replacement to the PPC-6700.

I just got out of a meeting with my sprint corporate reps. The 6800 release date has been officially cancled. The phone is scheduled for release and according to what they are being told the lawsuit DOES NOT affect the phone. They reason for the delays has something to do with network security and call quality. I will update you guys with information as I get it. I was able to actually use one today and i feel it will be worth the wait. otherwise you could pick up the POS blackberry 8800 which sprint will be releasing shortly. Not a bad device but hey it’s a blackberry.

oh by the way. the phone is shipping with REV A. no longer Rev 0 so thats a plus and also the reason i fell its being delayed.

Well, if it isn’t the lawsuit, which I wouldn’t expec them to tell you anyway, then it may be because this is the first phone that HTC has developed for and American cdma network. I’ve already made up my mind to get the HTC Kaiser, but for you cdma clients, it is what it is. You gotta ride it out with your 6700’s!

I was told by a Sprint Rep that I would be able to call and order the 6800 from them on June 21st.
I can’t wait…I don’t have a smart phone now and never had the desire to use one until I saw this. The Mogul is cool as s**t.

When and where did you get this info from A Sprint rep? Did he say when you would actually get it?

And does anyone know any reps or sprint locations in los angeles where there actually knowledgable like you guys! I swear, ever sprint store I go to in my area, no one knows crap about phones in any way, unless they have the phone!

I was just told I could call and order. I did not ask about a ship date, but was not told it wouldn’t come right away.

CrysMD, I called the Sprint customer service department, the customer care department, and a retail store in my area and they all told me that they don’t have a release date, a time where you can pre-order the phone or anything like that. Do you have more information on your source?

Hi everyone,
When I called the Sprint *2 from my phone yesterday I was told by the woman who spoke to a sales person that I could order the phone on June 21st. Another sales person I spoke directly with today said the phone will be out on June 18th and that her supervisor said the same. I will call a 3rd time later today and ask the question again. I will post again later today.

Well, that’s just Sprint being Sprint. No one ever says the same thing. Well, the 18th is Monday so i’ll check then. It would be greatly appreciated if you could let the forum know when you call back, thanks.

For what it’s worth, I just stopped by a local Sprint store (Dallas, Texas area), and the attendant seemed quite knowledgeable about the 6800, saying he had held one and was quite impressed. He said it would not become available on June 18th, but instead was being delayed until the end of July so they could ship it with both WM 6.0 and EVDA Rev. A. He said it will be worth the wait.

I went into a sprint store today 6/16/07 and a sprint sales person told me he just came from a meeting and that the 6800 would be released on Monday 6/18 i told him i would be back to order one He said ok that he would see me Monday. I am in NY. I have spoken to this rep before and the last time i spoke to him he didn’t know anything. So i believe it is coming out on Monday.

If I shoot you my email can you send me his name and number? None of the stores out here in CA know anything about this phone so if I have to order it from him, I will. That’ll be the best present for my chick!

Mogul info now on Sprints web site.

It’s official! It’s out! Sprint reps are incredibly incompetent at least here on the West Coast! For them not to know that this phone was coming out is devastating for their company!

Have you talked to any reps triune? I did and those morons don’t have any clue of any new phones…. They say “oh, there always gonna come out with new phones and we don’t know until they actually come into our store.”

Nope, I haven’t spoken to any reps Grimm, but the phone is now on Sprint’s website, so I know it’s available at least to order regardless of what the reps at the store say. Plus, if they are oblivious to new phones then it may be in the stores tomorrow?

LOL. No, it won’t be released in stores until at least July 16th. Have fun with your new phones all. I know I am going to enjoy mine.
