Sidekick iD Unboxing
T-Mobile and Danger have a cult following with their Sidekick line. I see the Sidekick pick up the consumer market RIM doesn’t and wants to have. Anyone out there that has an interest in an easy to use device, with practically everything you could ever need right at your fingertips, might want to try a Sidekick. I go back and forth with the Sidekick 3 all the time arguing both points — that one, there is no support for corporate email (Microsoft Exchange, etc), two is that their network side has a ton of problems, with outages having lasted for weeks, literally. But in general, you can’t really get much more than this on a device today in terms of preloaded applications and an fun OS. The Sidekick iD definitely deserves our 3.5 BG rating. Hit the link

It really is amazing how they’ve done it. AIM/MSN/Yahoo, that really work, and store your messages when you lose service, integrated push email right out of the box, while syncing all of your data to a backend server, making sure if anything even happened to your device, you could get a new one, pop the SIM in, and literally have your device back again. Your settings, your contacts, your emails, etc. Ok, enough, now onto the Sidekick iD. I personally really don’t mind it — at all! I think that a lot of people will buy it, and not just an extremely young demographic with short pockets. The feel is plasticky but actually pretty nice, and they haven’t changed the famous keys all that much. It lacks a camera, which sucked anyway because most pictures come out looking like The Incredible Hulk, Bluetooth, and EDGE. The Sidekick iD also has a little bit smaller screen. I honestly would have kept EDGE in play, and think that it could have really made this one of the most inexpensive, yet feature-packed handsets to hit the market today. Again, I’m not talking about feature features like a 5 megapixel camera, uploading to Flickr, GPS, and WiFi. I just named all the things my N95 has, damn I love that thing. I’m talking about an entry level handset, that can appeal to mass-market consumers. As far the consumer market goes, Sidekick: 3, RIM: 0.

I was looking for a device to replace my Sidekick 3, but this one won’t do it. I may end up going to the Blackberry if I am looking for a device with no camera to be honest.

Just want to let everone know don’t get a blackberry there is not unlimited messaging like with the sidekick.
the sidekick is so awesome you can even change the coler to match the outfit you are wearing that particulur day i want a SIDEKICK ID
