OMG what kind of Crack are they smoking. I am actually RIGHT NOW selling my Cingular 8525 & have bought a Blackberry Pearl (this is my 2nd pearl & should have NEVER switched) because Xpress Mail NEVER WORKS right, can only access ONE account, & KILLS battery life. NO THANKS you can keep that WM5 mess!!

Seems the Aussies are full of shyte, or themselves, or both as usual. A little bit of commonwealth envy from the lower sphere perhaps? Anyway, RIM seems to be growing leaps and bounds, soon there will be more BB users than there are Australians – period! And the outage for the vast majority of affected users was less than 6 hours, (if they even noticed at all) since it occured during off peak hours.

I think whoever wrote the article is honestly on crack. For enterprise level push e-mail its not just about changing your handset platform you have to figure out what back end system you’re going to use. Sure you can keep your blackberries and use something like Intellisync or if you want to go with pretty much just windows mobile devices you can go Exchange Activesync, but nothing really competes with the blackberry as a total solution. While many love to talk up the mobile e-mail solutions with the Blackberry, its more than that as mobile e-mail becomes more of a commodity than a unique feature.

The blackberry platform allows System admins to have a secure device by which to manage their servers from virtually anywhere they have coverage

The blackberry platform allows for secure access to internal systems and applications which cannot or should not ever be visible to the outside public.

The blackberry platform is the most reliable top to bottom platform

I prefer the Blackberry OS compared to the Windows Mobile. Mostly in part to the fact that the Blackberry can interface with both Mac and Windows. Far more universal for my lifestyle.

I said it before, my company was heated about the outage. It has fueled the debate. Obviously, other companies have a different perspective, and rightfully so!

Hmmm, is this blog sponsored by Microsoft? As a member of a company of about 3,000 heavy – and i mean real heavy – blackberry users, I have not heard one word of switching. Sure we all gossiped about it early the morning when the buzzing and flashing red lights were missing. We eagerly grabbed our ‘berries when the they started flashing, beeping and vibrating again, but no one ever considered switching…

Well, I’ve used the BB8700g, and Pearl. I’ve also used a few WM devices, and I have to say that the BB devices are far more reliable, and IMHO have a better feel to them. I used the Q and the BlackJack briefly, and neither were as solid as the 8700/8100. Again, IMO…
