BGR Now with Full Text RSS
After reading Robert Scoble’s thoughts this weekend on full text RSS feeds vs. partial RSS feeds, we’ve decided to switch the feed over to full text RSS. This will provide a richer experience for anyone who is subscribed to our feed. Now you’ll be able to get the entire content of the post including pictures, just by subscribing. The link has remained the same, so for those already in the game, you will see the changes soon.
For those not familiar with RSS, it stands for Really Simple Syndication, and it’s a way to have a websites content delivered to you without having to visit the site. There are many web-based and software based readers out there. We recommend Google Reader for online reading, NetNewsWire if you’re on a Mac, and FeedDemon for the PC. Any site which contains the orange RSS icon to the right, allows you to subscribe to the content, and whenever there is a new post, it will have it automatically sent to your reader.
We certainly believe that this will provide a better experience for everyone checking out BGR.

thank you boy genius for making the change, partial text feeds are annoying. i’m about at the point of unsubscribing from partial text feeds as i use newsbreak on my wm6 8125 for my RSS reader and trying to view webpages to view a full article is very annoying, even with opera mobile.
I will be adding this RSS to newsclip on my bb8800 right on the list next to digg.com
Thanks BG
thanks.
a lot.
Thanks BG.
I love the site and your exclusives but not having a full feed always irked me. Another happy reader right here
Yup, good call – much better.
I read Scobles post too and the first blog from my subscribed ones that came into my mind was the BGR feed – thanks a million for improving my Google Reader experience!
I was literally about to delete BGR from my newsreader. Not anymore. Thanks.
Not sure if it’s related to this change or not, but in Thunderbird, I get the text but the accompanying images to some of the entries comes up with just a place holder icon and no image.
For example, I got the image for the posting about HTC sponsoring the 2007 Gumball. But, the image for the article on the T-Mobile BB 8800 unboxing didn’t come up.
Love the site! Keep up the great work!
Bravo!
