BlackBerry 8320 coming to T-Mobile?

Although this will simply be an educated assumption with no confirmation from sources from within the vast unknowns, it appears the BlackBerry 8320 - you know, the one we showed you a couple hours ago - might have found a home with T-Mobile USA. The modules loaded on the device make a slight hint at this finding, as it’s loaded with the MyFaves modules as well as the T-Mobile USA theme file (Vendor ID: 100) - no other carrier themes are loaded on the device and all of these modules are locked by ‘vendorID’ in the BlackBerry.alx installation file.

If that’s the case I’m highly isappointed. I’m wondering if I’ll ever get an 8320

“T” needs to start launching some of these handsets before they have a backlog, I wonder what they will launch first this or the 8820?

Hopefully T-mobile will get off their slow arses and release the 8320 soon. I’ve been a LONG T-mo customer and thinking of switching if AT&T beats them again to the 8300 series

I’m guessing T-Mo’s release to be May 22 or soon after that, which covers Cingular’s 90 day exclusivity rights even though the 8300 is not a 8800 series model.

If my girl finds out this has GPS, she’ll hunt me down forever, hehehehehe.
T-Mo’s humbleness is getting ridiculous. They should release papa bear, i mean…..we dont even have an upgrade to our 8100 pearl’s OS in their site YET!!!, T-Mo is slow in every department. Yeah, yeah, customer service is great but we get tired of niceness. [strike]WE NEED GADGETS,WE NEED GADGETS!!!!!! [/strike]

Don’t feel too bad Area51 you guys get what you payfor. I feel I pay for crappy customer service and get really nice phones and ever expanding network. So maybe Cingular is not all that bad.

T-Mo is not near as slow as SprintNextel. I meam talk about molasses.

Wow no GPS is a huge hit for those of us on the “road” during the day. Guess I won’t be getting the ideal business/personal combo device I was hoping for. A carrier change may be in order for the one that lands the “papa bear”.

If I had a choice - which i do …
i pick gps over wifi.
i use google maps a lot on my 8700g. I find it very useful.
As far as data, i only use it for email, reading bgr, and engadgetmobile, and Yahoo IM and googletalk - which does not require much bandwidth.
I think think about wifi when they have voip apps for blackberry.

AT&T had the 8800, so there should be no exclusivity rights to the 8300. with that said, any idea on when T-Mobile is coming out with the 8300?

meh….wifi….woopie…i own an 8800 with at&t. sure im going to sound like im just being sore but whatever. all i have to say is that if you have a blackberry, you most likely have a data plan, such as the unlimited data plan of course. EDGE is actually pretty fast with page uploads. i compared it to my friends excalibur and there was simply no reasonable difference in page load speeds. and to lose gps over it? no thanks. ill stick to my clean and sleek 8800 thank you very much.

The waiting is the hardest part.

TMO? I have T-Mo now, my contract is long since over and I want out because they still have not improved the coverage.
I want the new freakin’ Verizon BB - whatever version they come out - just come out with it already. Does anybody have any information whatsoever about the timeframe? The latest news I have seen on various sites is Verizon would come out with the 8320 in May/June.

T-Mobile might be slow but we test the phones before we launch them. I dont know about you but I would rather wait for a good phone rather than have it come out and then have issues. I also work for tmo and I am willing to wait for the 8320. I have the 8700 and love it never had one issue with it. RIM does make a good phone =)

I have to say, after 16 states traveling with T-mo (me) and Cingular (wife, daughter) both, neither one seemed to have any edge (pun intended) over the other. If one worked, they all worked, usually with the same number of bars. I think that in this day and age of “no roaming charges”, anyone saying either one has better coverage is just trying to justify their own choice of carrier.
That said, the phone you choose (free w/contract vs. $250 w/contract) might have a lot to do with your results.

so iam assuming the radio silence means no info on release times…sigh Tmo

I am waiting for the 8320 myself and will wait for Tmo to come out with it. I have the 8700 and love it. I agree gps and wifi together but hey I am happy with Wifi.
I heard May 7th launch date so I shall be patient.
Tmo does test their phones and make sure they are working before launch BUT if you must have the latest and cannot wait Cingular is the one to look at to get the phone to use with Tmo.
Have a great day !

I can’t wait for this 8320! There has been definite silence on all channels concerning it since it was announced last month. Does anyone have any updated info?? I’ve heard May 7th….but I’ve heard that date attached to about 4 different versions of the 83xx, and even the cyclone. Does anyone have anything solid?

dang, two months later and it’s still not here… Maybe they’re thinking June. Everything that gets realeased in June is going to be compared to the iPhone.
