Boy Genius Report v1.5 Launched!

March 12. In 1894, Coca-Cola was bottled and sold for the first time. In 1912, the precursor to the Girl Scouts of America was formed. In 1951, Dennis the Menace is birthed in American comic strips. In 1953, American porn star legend, Ron Jeremy, is born.

And most importantly, in 2007, The Boy Genius Report underwent a complete makeover and now looks better than ever. We’ve got new features, such as an easier-to-read comment system, more visible photographs, a great "Share This" plugin which will let easily share our posts with popular sites such as Digg, Technorati, Windows Live, and many more (and we hope you do!). We also have screen-friendly auto-sizing that’s not constrained to standard limitations.

Pretty sweet looking. I would say its very Web 2.0 but that term’s overused and now I dont know what it means. I also like the tips button. If I would ever know something that Boy Genius did not know (like thats gonna happen) I’ll use it.

It’s a nice theme, but it doesn’t degrade well for screens with smaller resolutions. Other than that it’s pleasing to the eye.

…or just click on HOME? :)

Logos should be navigational. Banners not so much. I suppose it just depends on which school of design you grew up in.

Actually, the comment system here is much better than Engadget’s. Your password is randomly generated, 8 characters, and can’t be changed (or if it can, no one on the site is willing to tell how).

I’d compare it more to Gizmodo’s, or maybe Crunchgear’s. Either way, I like it. Now you just need more people so you can post more frequently and this might join Engadget and Gizmodo in the sites I always check.
