iPhone Confirmed on Rogers

Multiple sources have confirmed that Rogers will pick up the iPhone for the Canadian market. This news doesn’t come as much of a shock, as Rogers is currently Canada’s only major GSM network. Prices and release date are unconfirmed but it’s a safe bet that this thing won’t come out until a little while after its American debut. Of interest is that, unlike Cingular, Rogers does not currently offer an unlimited data plan, opting instead for a pricing scheme that could leave heavy data users in serious financial decay. Especially given the iphone’s emphasis on internet communication. Could there be an Apple/Rogers exclusive rate plan in the works?

I wonder if the “visual voice mail” will work with Rogers.

Rogers is so behind on everything. Their prices for all their data plans are absurd.

It will be interesting to see if Rogers will be able to force Apple to cripple the WiFi capabilities. I would not put it past them. If they do, no iPhone for me.

They have managed to cripple Blackberry 8800/9XXX , i won’t be surprised it they will do the same to IPhone.

Is this supposed to be coming to Canada before ‘08 ? Or are we looking at a seriously delayed release ? I hope they capitalize on the hype.
