Cingular Rebate Part 3.

On a new Cingular Rebate Form the Motorola V3xx and Nokia N75 are listed. We’ll leave it up to Cingy to decide how to handle or royally screw up the launch of these phones. I heard of two different color V3xx’s being launched on Cingular. The 2 month window the rebate gets doesn’t really ease our minds but I am going to try and get some concrete details today. More info to follow.

It looks like they’re not considering the N75 to be a smartphone, based on the plan they’re requiring people to get. Weird. At least they’ve changed the Blackjack from PDA to smartphone.

Thanks for the news BG! Finally, the N75 shows up on some official Cingular Document. That means that it’s close to Release. I’m glad they don’t require the more expensive PDA connect plan for this phone. I guess their definition of “smartphone” is something w/ a qwerty KB.

oh please let the v3xx come out soon. I really want to know what the deal is with this device!

I’m hoping Motorola isn’t delaying these until their stupid video calling that’s supposed to come out in June.

But the 3125 is also a Smartphone, according to this. I guess their definition requires a Microsoft OS?

took the words outta my mouth, Desh.

Cingular’s definition of a smartphone must rely on whether or not the word “smartphone” is used by a non-Cingular party to describe the device…
    3125 runs Windows Mobile Smartphone
    E61 is a Nokia Smartphone
    etc

What do you mean tha the Blackjack is a smartphone? On cingys website it still says only the 3125 and 2125 are elgible for the smartphone plan while the Blackjack is on the PDA plan.

One thing to note about these rebates is that these are not the same for all market. For the central region all the rebate amounts are the same but 3G phones do not require a MediaMax plan to get the Cingular Rebate.

But I am excited to finally see the N75 show up on a rebate even though that still doesn’t mean it will be available any time soon.

Seeing it on a rebate does not confirm that it will be released soon or even within the time frame of the rebate. Last year there was one of these rebate forms with the Nokia 6282 on it and not only did the phone not get released, it got canceled to ever be released.

Hey BG, do you have any update on the next rebate form? You’ve been good at getting these things before they hit the website, and the current one expires on Saturday. Curious to see if the N75 is still listed.

Stan^ this post is from January and I’m pretty sure BG will post any rebates when he gets them because it would be pointless to hold out on them. Take a gander at Engadget mobile and search under N75, there have been some posts on seeing it in the flesh and whatnot
