Sometimes one manufacturer doing something doesn't make it safe(notice all the battery explosions). I read about these batteries three years ago and wondered why they didn't get anywhere then. From what I remember it's the same chemistry, with the same capacity, just in gel form. I have since moved on to believing fuel cells are the way to go! I didn’t miss the point.
