Cingular Treo 750 demo unit arrives in stores

Seems like we could have the Treo 750 by Christmas or shortly after. Various Cingular stores have started to receive a Treo demo unit. The case is identical to the Vodafone Treo 750, even in color. Only difference being the Cingy branding. This demo unit only means that the release will be soon but we still haven’t heard a date yet, just the broad "Q4" time frame. Trust us when we know, you’ll know! At least for now you get to enjoy some pics. Click on for the rest of them.

Interesting that there isn’t much Cingy branding in the software (i.e., Xpress Mail links on Today screen).

I’ve been waiting for this a while.. =) I’ve heard unconfirmed rumors of January 9th, which is fine with me. Returning the a certain thin smartphone for it actually. As for size? I like a little junk in the trunk… Anyone hearing anything else besides January 9th as a release date?

Interesting. I am more inclined to believe your sources, BG. I will have to check the cingular site tomorrow ( trying to make sure of my corporate discount =) ). Thanks again for the great work.

I’ve always had good battery life with my treo 650. I’m sure if i can manually set the treo 750 to EDGE instead of 3G (like i do with my current blackjack), i’ll gain a boost in battery life. Call it preference, i guess.

The Treo 750 had a samsung processor which means that you can leave 3g on standby and it won’t kill the battery like the other processors.

Clinton, Sounds like you should get a Treo 680. The Treo 750 is obviously something your would “hate”. I dislike Microsoft software in general, but Windows mobile Pocket PC is by far the best PDA platform out right now. Maybe if Apple would get in this game we would all be happy!

Are we even sure this is the right phone. Is it really a treo 750V???

It’s a Treo 750 - same as the Treo 750v (NO “V”odofone). Is the Treo 750 just vaporware? A prototype demo? At this point, I would take a demo phone and just pretend it works. I never have any anticipation for a phone release - but this treo has changed all that. Maybe its because my current phone is on its death bed and I cant see replacing it with anything else.
