The HTC Vox concept photo has been floating around the net for a little while so I thought it was my turn to step things up a bit. I present the first live picture of the HTC Vox (S710) smartphone with complete spec sheet. Quad-Band EDGE, Spring-assisted keyboard like the P4350, WiFi and more. Don’t ask me how, don’t ask me why. Just enjoy! Thanks HTC!
P.S. Just noticed the screen on the device says UMTS operator, who knows if that will make it to production, lets hope.

man that space bar key is weird.

damn sexy
this form factor with the full WM 5.0 OS would be killer

very cool. Does WM5 Smartphone support screen rotation?

Doesn’t the pic look Fake Fake Fake?…look at the screen with the square corners. It looks like someone Photoshoped a screen shot ontop of the phone, no?

Yeah, but it is probably because they didn’t have a real pic. This came from HTC direct. A lot of cell phone companies do that when a product isn’t yet finalized.

How can you prove to us its the first live shot? Both shots of the VOX and Libra are blurred and Dull???

Another great unveiling via BGR! Keep up the great work. I dont think he needs to prove much, I mean he is the BOY GENIUS. hehe

Forgot to add. Maybe it is running crossbow or photon? Most likely crossbow.

certainly doctored pics….by the way if this is supposed to be a smartphone platform without a touch screen, then how do you navigate without a joystick/D pad???
looks like this isnt the final product…

Does the Smartphone OS support screen rotation?

If these specs are correct its kinda lame they didn’t put the 400Mhz processor that the TyTn/8525 has in it. TAre they trying to save on the bill by not putting cases in the box anymore? I heard the 8525 doesn’t come with a case either.

There is no navigation-key/button/joystick, which is necessary on WM 5 Smartphone. Compare to HTC Tornado/Qtek 8310…

Are these dimesions correct. If so, it would mean this devices has a footprint roughly equal to the startrek!!!
This simply can not be true with a 2.4″ screen and keypad.

This is one of the worst…
Obvious fake screen…
“Z” key too far to the left…
Space bar off to the side…
“0″ to the left of the “1″, they shoulda put the numbers all in a row on the top row since the device already has a numeric pad on the front.

This is a bit odd. The cavalier will sport a 400MHz processor and tri-band HSDPA. Why would HTC dumb down this smartphone that would seem to be a follow up to the cavalier? Do you have any insight/info into this?

I dont believe this is a replacement to any current model but could be the start of a new breed of mini windows 5 qwerty machines. The form factor seems to be tailored to the media masses and not the power user anyway. Sure the screen looks doctored but most release photos of unfinalized products have that to add to the effect. better than a black screen of nothingness when trying to prove the OS is in effect. great job my man…thats how we roll with the info

I meant maybe they faked the screen and specs a bit cuz its running crossbow…?idk. something smells fishy though, and its not candy

Sweet looking device!
Now it would be a “PERFECT” device if the final release has…
1. HSDPA
2. GPS
3. POCKET PC
4. Touch Screen
Let’s hope the HTC engineers are reading this

I will explain why this is a doctered picture.
1. The smart guys at HTC have learned that to preserve spave all keys should be placed against each other in their other models. This Shot shows lost space in a space critic device.
2. Sharp man allready said this one before. Where’s the joystick?
3. BGR Points specificly to the UMTS on the screen which he knows is fake.
4. Again: Does the Smartphone OS support screen rotation?
5. Some mis allignments in the keys.
6. The right softkey on the keyboard is rounder.
7. Ilogical place for the SD card.
8. Device is top lit, but del key & return key are bottom lit.

Sieht SCHEISSE aus!! Ohne Joystick!!!
Mann, ich glaube HTC hats nicht mehr im Griff..
Dabei war das 8310 so toll..

looks great, wont mind having one, however regarding the comment about no joystick / navigation bar, thats because it has a roller / scroll wheel.

BTW Crossbow seems to be pretty good, though I’ve not used Smartphone/WindowsMobile for a while, I’ve been on UIQ…Build is alright, though the ‘bottom end’ of the top slider is bowing a bit (the slide mech is towards the ‘top end’). Got WLAN working and going to try the Skype Beta later…
I’ll post better pics later I hope.
