Cingular BlackBerry Pearl Now Shipping
I know everyone (including myself) was waiting for an official announcement this morning about the BlackBerry Pearl availability on Cingular. It has been released, it started shipping to all stores today. Most stores will receive them by Thursday with some stores getting them by tomorrow. Cingular has constantly moved the Pearl’s release date around so it comes as no suprise that the internal release date, as recent as a week ago has not happened. Stay tuned for unboxing pics of the Cingular Pearl!

Wake me when a 3g blackberry is released! All this hype over edge! Blackberry connect now available for wm5 and wm6, makes this thing ancient in the eyes of a power user. This is a phone for the trendy High School Cheerleader!

I have been waiting for Cingular to come out with this for about a month now. And from what i know is that each Cingular rep. does not have the same info. I was on the phone with a cingy. rep last night and they hadnt heard of the pearl. which i think is a total lie because everyone else from cingular that i have talked to keeps saying the pearl should come out no later than december 11th hopefully you guys are right! I want my pearl soon!

I called every cingular (5) in town. One said “2 weeks”, most just said no and that I should come in a buy the blackjack..Others said they havent heard anything yet….hummm..maybe it isnt a nationwide roll out? Id like to see BGR’s sources
One store said “any day now” because it’s on their price list ($275 w/ $50 mail-in rebate); another said “not until late next month”, and a third said “in time for the Christmas season.” I’ll check back on Monday… but I’m with Ricky Ricardo – would love to see it with 3G.

Called at least 4 “authorized dealers” in the bay area
1. “It probably won’t be out till after thanks giving”. “Monday then?”. “Dont know if it’s going to be early next week or later”.
2. “Probably wont be out till the middle of next month”
3. “Will be out early next year”
4. “what phone is that? 8525?”. “Nope. 8100 – Blackberry pearl”. “havent heard of that phone”
Go figure. BG, do you still stand by the info above? Should we expect it latest by Monday?
Went to the Cingular Store across from Grand Central Station (on Lex) in NYC and they told me “a couple of weeks” as well. Would be interested to see if any unboxing pics show up anytime soon (at least prior to 1 Dec 06).
Am seeing more and more reports of ‘T-Mo exclusive til Dec 1st’. Dont know if it’s going to be available before then. BG – Clarification, please.

11/30/06 according to my Cingular owned store here in Florida while I was picking up a Treo 680 today. PS—the Treo is going back as I don’t care for number of applications, and I’m disappointed really. I’ll try out The Pearl now next week when it comes in and give that a shot.
Our cingular business rep still says it isn’t available. Is it shipping or not? Has anyone got a Cingular Pearl out there?
I already posted a comment on this, but of course boy genius deleted it. I never did say anything inappropriate…he just didnt like that what i was saying!!
It is good that BG has his own webpage and all and that he broke off from engaget and all….He is a rainmaker and does break all the cool new stories, etc..but why can he not admit that he was WRONG this time and had hundreds of bloggers and several large BB webpages fooled….He may want to wait a few days before “breaking” the big story..which of course was false….I think the RIM and Cingular Execs are rolling over BGR’s breaking news!!!

Today’s update: Shipped, and In my store on 11/29! Confirmed with the store Manager.
Tried to order direct from Cingular business customer care. The rep said that they expect to be able to take orders for the BB Pearl tomorrow 10/27 and could get one to me on the 28th. I am still skeptical, but we’ll see…
No News yet: Cingular stores still have no clue; website still lists the Pearl as ‘coming soon’. Status quo.
Cingular corp store in Northern NJ said no Pearl till next week. No specific date, just next week.
I called National Business Ordering this morning and they have no clue either. They are in the system, but can’t order them yet. Anyone know if they are 3G or EDGE?
Edge, not 3G as far as I’ve seen.
