Cingular Rebate Form Shows All!
A new Cingular rebate form correctly identifies the many devices that have been lurking in the 3rd dimension for the past couple months. We have the Samsung Blackjack, Palm Treo 680, Palm Treo 750, BlackBerry Pearl, Cingular 8525, Motorola KRAZR (See how they updated the name so people would actually pronounce the phone correctly?) and finally the Motorola V3R (Hmm..). This rebate form is good from November 5th, through December 30th so look for all the Cingular joy to be launching in that timeframe. Click on for the full rebate form!

i saw this like two weeks on cingulars website..after i got a text message from them sayin they received my form. i wanted to check the requirements to make sure i qualified and i noticed all the new phones listed…i thought i was trippin..
So I just called my local Cingular store and asked about Treos as I was hoping to purchase a new 680. I was very surprised when I heard that the store I called said that they would not be selling the 680 but rather the 750. He said that they were a business store and that other stores might carry the 680. When I inquired as to whether the 750 would be Palm or Windows Mobile based, he mentioned something about a Nitro phone that would be Palm based. He said those phones should be available for sale on the Nov 7th. When I asked about pricing he said he wasn’t allowed to say. Does anyone know anything about a Palm OS based 750 from Cingular coming out this week or was this guy incorrect?
Nitro is the code-name for the 680, isn’t it?

Yeah I believe nothing I read anymore. Until I can hold it in my hands…I’ll believe it when I see it, physically.
As someone who worked in Cingy’s agent sales channel for 2 years, the rebate form does lie sometimes. It usually gives off a hint of what’s coming, but not necessarily when. The Nokia 9300 was on quite a few rebate forms before actually being released. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me if you see the Pearl, 8525, KRZR, and one of the Treo’s before the form’s expired. As for the rest….that’s a LOT of phones in a little time…not typical of Cingular by ANY means.
Something that surprises me is that the Indigo isn’t listed. I figured it would go to Cingular first, but if it is going to be released before the end of the year, it looks like T-Mobile will get it.

What about the Blackberry 8800 Indigo? Its not listed on the rebates listed above. The pearl is nice, but the 8800 Indigo (if its what its suppose to be) will worth wait, so long as I don’t have to wait beyond another month or two.

I spoke with a rep at Cingular yesterday to inquire about the Samsung Blackjack aka the sgh i607. He told me that they had a meeting that morning and that all the new 3G phones should be released “just around the corner”. He said that he was told in the meeting not to say anything to anybody about anything. He also told me that they would require the $40 monthly data plan and that Cingular would probably do away with the $20 smartphone plan soon enough. It would seem to me that if you dont need to access enterprise systems for email then they should offer a less expensive pda plan similar to that available for the blackberry.
As far as the BB Pearl I was told by a cingular rep that it would be out before thanksgiving.
My Cingular Rep told me tonight that The Pearl is a promised November sale item, and had a live phone in the store recently. I’ll be on the short call list when it comes in hopefully this coming week; we’ll see.
Dasm, that Blackjack has got me on hold now for The Pearl until I can get one in my hands; the sgh i607 full board and 3G has me interested, and I’ll follow up here locally with my Cingular Rep about whatever he might know.
